I was playing in a game of invasion and we just caped the tier 2 territories and i headed up to get the core. i got the core and jumped of the edge. I missed the orange lift and hit the ground....but whats this? I didnt die!!! watch the video(soon to be posted) for a good look at the action.

It happens randomly from time to time. We have yet to find any consistent explanation.

ah well i was just curious cause i went and tried it again and it didnt work so idk. but there should be a video up asap

It's the angles of the ground. When you hit a rock from a great height, if the rock is slanted at just the right angle where you impact, you will sometimes simply fly off, or slide off of it. Same with with the ground, as sections of the spire ground are slanted and curved in order to create rough terrain.

Like RJ said, it has happened before, but I've never seen it happen in that spot or with a player carrying the core. There never seems to be any (shield) damage dealt to the player, unlike the scenario Turtle mentioned where there always seems to be some damage dealt.

But yea it hadnt happened to me before and i hadnt heard anyone talk about it before so i was curious a while if they had made it so you dont take fall damage with the core. So i went into customs with the latest version and tried it there a few times and it didnt work.

At the end you can see the other person did the same without dieing.
