Ingredients
70cl vodka
strawberries (enough to fill a 1litre bottle)
sugar
Equipment
Knife
Chopping board
1 litre bottle or Jar with a large neck to fit the strawbs through
Forced coffee filter or muslin
Large jug
funnel
Pretty bottle around 50cl
Large spoon
Method
Wash and take the tops off the strawberries and make sure you dry them!
Fill the bottle or Jar to the top with strawberries
Pour sugar in so it looks to be about a quarter of the way up (more sugar means it will retain its flavour better, but be more sickly)
Fill to the top with vodka (you should have some left over)
Place in Fridge turning daily for around 5 days till the strawberries loose most of their colour.
Remove from fridge and strain over a jug pressing gently then decant the liquid into the pretty bottle.
Save the strawberries as they may now be bleached white by the vodka, but they are also deliciously boozy and great in a pavlova or on their own as desert.
Nutritious and delicious.
You can't beat this one, big hit with the lovely GF
