It has come to my attention that there is no thread on this board about food. Now, considering the fact that we need to eat to live (and I live to eat), I thought it might be nice to have a little carve out of this space dedicated to food. We can share recipes, cooking techniques, restaurants we love, etc. Food is marvelous and it should be celebrated. Since we all live around the globe, it would be nice for us to share meals through here. Also, Thanksgiving is around the corner, and if you're inclined to bring a side dish, this would be the place to help others also rock at life in their cooking/guest game. I, personally, make a mean mac n' cheese. I may not be able to slay from across a map, but I definitely know my way around a kitchen. I'm sure a few of you know how to throw down yourselves. At the very least, you know what good food tastes like. Let's talk about it.

I for myself am a bad chef. I can only make the simplest things but I love to eat haha. My Mom and Grandma are preeetty good. So far they haven't cookd anything I didn't eat.

Simple is good for cooking. Most things start with simple techniques, and then you layer them. Like a bechamel sauce is a "mother" sauce because it's very basic, but there are adds to it that make it a bunch of other types of sauces. It's how I make the cheese sauce for my mac n' cheese.

It's an old picture, but I think I make a mean pot of chili...

Beans, so yes I know, not "real" chili.

But it's filling and warming in the winter, so I like it anyway.

I like to cook when I have the time and not feeling very tired after my shifts.

Do NOT read this thread if you've not eaten all day.

I'm thinking this weekend calls for making snickerdoodles. I'm not a huge sweets fan, but I use coworkers as guinea pigs.

I spent an entire semester eating almost exclusively microwaved chicken nuggets
by the end of the semester I actually had to start eating fruits bc I was getting tired too quickly and apparently entirely chicken wasn't a balanced diet

I usually just forget to throw in the frozen veggies with the frozen chicken before I microwave it all

I love good food, specifically steak or salmon, but it takes too long to properly prepare food

However, in the spirit of this thread i will share a burger I ordered at some restaurant about 2 years ago. It had 4 patties:


And there was another time some friends wanted to make a cake but all we had was the cake pan.. so we made the cake entirely in the pan

maybe there should be a how to survive college/broke life and still have decent meals ... Don't get me wrong, I ate my fair share of easy mac & chef boyardee, but still ...
