Food for thought.

Wed Sep 07, 2016 12:52 pm

If you can only eat only one country's type of food for the rest of your life, which would it be and why? (i.e. Italian, mexican, somalian, ethiopian, french. Etc...)

Mexican for a variety of ingredients and adaptability into other foods. Also allows for seafood dishes.

French - cuisine steeped in tradition, excellent flavor combinations, allows for seafood, poultry, beef, etc - excellent breads and desserts

See, I thought about that but I'm not a big fan of the way egg permeates so much of French cuisine and how light their food tends to be as my only culture's cuisine.

I can't choose!

I'm somewhat inclined for whoever's cuisine encompasses classic cakes. Dessert is a big deal to me.

While I've grown up on Tex/Mex, I can assuredly say that the lack of cake keeps me from cementing my vote for it.

Aren't they called Banger in the Mouth?

Also, I would choose Indian food.

Cri it originates from WW1 when the we were in the trenches we would cook sausages in a pan and they would go bang, hence the name Bangers

Mexican any day of the week. American is a close 2nd.

When you think of Classic American food we have lots of diversity, stealing from all sorts of other cultures as well as creating our own styles. Country Fried Steak, BBQ Ribs, Burgers and Dogs, California Style (w/ Avocado on EVERYTHING), or New York style Pizza, Chicago style Pizza, I think American is truly the broadest choice here because of our history and culture... all that said, Mexican for the Win. NOM!
