Re: And what are you reading now?

Been on a bit of a reading kick lately. I recently finished Fellowship of the Ring (again) and the first Mass Effect novel, Revalation. The ME had a pretty generic sci-fi plot, but it took place in the ME universe so it earns automatic points.

I'm currently reading a collection of Hemingway's Nick Adams short stories, I love his terse writing style. I'll probably finish up the LOTR series after this and then move on to the rest of the seemingly endless queue.

The last novel I read was Fight Club which is a pretty good read if you're in to post modern literature, you'll like it if you liked the movie too but it's different. The whole ending is different. The last play I read was Equus which is a pretty interesting psychological look at what's right and wrong to love because society has conditioned us to view the world in a certain way. As of now I'm attempting to read Kurt Vonnegut's "Cats Cradle", it's the third time I've started it and I'm just trying to find time to read it. Vonnegut may take the cake for my favorite author, definitely worth checking out.

Hope you have patience.. when I read it many years ago, I tried more than twice, but just could'nt finish it. I remember laughing at the part about "The Syndicate" tho, I think you'll like that. :)

Yozi was right, I never did finish it lol. I'll give it another try one of these days.

Just finished Halo: First Strike. Wasn't sure what to expect, but was hoping to pick up some details that I've missed, having not played 1-3. Some of it seemed a little long-winded, but I thought it was actually really good.

Over the last few months I've been reading more from The Dresden Files. I'll finish reading those books soonish I think.

I just finished A Clash of Kings by George R.R. Martin, my 3rd readthrough of that one, to coincide with season 2 of Game of Thrones on HBO.

I started reading The Hunger Games yesterday. Enjoying it so far 100 pages in.

Dragonlance: Dragons of the Dwarven Depths. Love the entire Dragonlance saga, and it's good to reconnect with the original Heroes of the Lance!

I recently finished Halo: Primordium and I'm deciding whether to go back to reading Contact Harvest (I read the first chapter when the Forerunner series arrived so I moved onto them) but I'm thinking I may move onto Grasslands next.

I'm also partway through Catching Fire (second book of the hunger games) and about half way through Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett, as well as about half way through Halo: Evolutions Volume one.

Kal, a while back I started a Dresden Files thread because I love the series so Pineappling much... You may find that I answered your question there months ago. One of the best 2 series I've read. I think I'll write another post there now...

Re: And what are you reading now?

Just finished reading the latest book of the NIghtrunner series by Lynn Flewelling, "Casket of Souls."

As it stands, I don't have any books I plan to read immediately, but I'm willing to delve into something new. I mostly read science fiction and fantasy, but am not limited to that genre, but I don't really want to read any of the Halo novels or other fiction inspired by video game worlds.

Anyone have any suggestions?
