I'm currently 87% through "The Wizard and Glass". It's part of the Dark Tower series by Stephen (Steven?) King.

Really been digging on this book, My roommate got me into LOST, and then mentioned I should read these books. So I started at Book 1, Enjoyed the hell out of it, and got through it pretty quickly. This one is the first one of the series I've read on my Kindle (Hence the Percentage).

In this book the Gunslinger, Roland is telling his group of travellers (Ka-tet) a story from his childhood about the his first time away from home on his own. It's REALLY REALLY good.

I keep hearing about various directors and studios wanting to put together a Dark Tower movie or TV series... But I think a neat way to get it started would be to just start with this story from Roland's Past... Then they could start the actual Dark Tower story later... My friend who has read all of the books including the most recent entry, has said that some things I dont yet know would probably hinder that idea...

But I just really like this story and would like to see it on a screen. Also I enjoy talking about who we each would cast in the various roles... Mainly because I've come to realize, Very rarely am I visualizing the characters the way other folks who have read the books visualize them. (Sometimes even differently than King himself Describes them.)

If you haven't read the Dark Tower series I Highly recommend it! It's really well written, I love Mr King's style, the way he paints the settings of each scene and really draws your attention to various details of the area. It's very much a Directors style of telling the story, I can see in my head the establishing shot, Followed by the close ups of items around the area before a character or group of characters begin their dialogue. But I know I've heard a couple people complain that the details are unnecessary or boring. But I can't get enough of it!

The last two books i read were from the dead space universe of science fiction. They were titled martyr and catalyst, both really expaned on the backstory and that mysterious artifact which the series tends to revolve around. Currently, I am awaiting my order of the game of thrones series to be delivered to my household.

I'm reading this again. The final Wheel of Time book comes out in 2 weeks so I figured I'd set up by reading the previous 2 (the final 3 were intended to be the final 1).

It was interesting. I don't read Spiderman, but the story was good, and the ending was kind of surprising. I'm sure that they will somehow bring him back, much like they did with Superman in the 90's.

I know. but he's still getting paid when I buy it. I dunno, I'm not down on anyone who reads it. I get it, it could be entertaining, I just dont like encouraging him to continue to write

Half price books used stuff. No money to the publisher and thus the author. I agree with not wanting him to make money off myself, but there is always a way. ::thumbs::

Just got the 7-8-9 box for the Sword of Truth. A lot of people seem to say that the series drops off in quality at this point... guess I'll find out soon enough.
