Attention friends, I'm now Van Hengel again on xbox live. Handsome Van is no more.

I had been feeling like changing it for a while so as to be more recognizable to my (real life) students when I play with them.

Quite a few of them have added me and so far it's been a great lot of fun. At first I was a little worried about their respect for me but it turned out to be a great way of connecting with them outside the classroom for a bit. Just this afternoon a mother came to get her son (and his buddy, I was playing 1 vs 2, still easily kicked their asses) for dinner from his room and she took the headset when he told her he was playing with his teacher. Had a friendly little chat with her and she was totally cool with it.

I know there are a few (aspiring) teachers on the site. I can recommend this. If it fits your personal style as a teacher, that is of course.

So from now on look for Van Hengel again.

And I wish I had teachers that I could play video games with growing up.

Pfft. Where I am teachers are strongly advised not to keep in contact with students out of school and aren't allowed to add them on facebook or anything else like that. :S It's ridiculous

If health and safety keep this up all the kids will die of insanity..

I'm updating my other gamertag to B0RN 2 D0MIN8. It's a zero in D0MIN8 instead of BORN.

I have 2 reasons for doing this. First, I'm going to be getting a new flat panel in my room soon so I will have one of my other xbox's in there. I don't want to constantly be recovering my gamertag between boxes.

Secondly, my main tag is full and there are still some people from around here that I don't have on my friends list. Not to mention quite a few new members that I would like to get some games in with.

So, anyone not already on my FL, feel free to send an invite to my other tag.

yep Ofsted gone mad buddy....
Over here the first thing is the teachers would be accused of "grooming" or some shite like that, i think its cool to connect with the kids for teachers, as that way they may have more enthusiasm in the classroom with the "cool" teacher, but the office government types over here are more likely to look at you as some sort of predator for wanting to "connect" with students.... pathetic.
