Feel free to post in this thread. I use it mostly to keep people updated about what's going on in the War Games Directory, and use it to request general help. Also, it's kinda cool to see how things have progressed over time.

Many people have been asking me about map guides and such, so I'll just make an announcement here.

I will not open up a discussion on maps I believe are going to change after the first Matchmaking update until that update takes effect. Right now, Hemorrhage is ruled by the tank, and that's not going to be there soon. I don't want to start building strategy based on a power vehicle that won't be there soon. As for the other maps, I will start getting them up as soon as possible. Expect Countdown callouts up today, opening discussion. I will also try to get Invasion started today as well.

If you feel I'm ignoring something though, and you really want to start a topic about something Reach strategy related, even a map guide, feel free to do so. However, do not start a thread: Some Map---Discuss. If you're going to start a thread for a new map, please either include map callouts (as Oboe did) or post a well thought-out strategy for the map. Save the forum lolz for the other forums.

In other War Room News: I've cleaned out the forum of Halo 3 threads that have lost their relevance. I've also moved some of the threads from the Halo Reach forum here, such as the AA Tips threads Haut started.

This is more of a request.

If you started a discussion on a topic, such as the Plasma Launcher thread, or any of the AA Tips threads, do you think you could continually update your OP with new bits of info that others add. Bonus points if you can make some neat presentation for it (not necessary; I'm obsessive-compulsive so I might end up cleaning it up anyway).

This is just one more way we can speed up the learning process for our community so we all get better. The more of you that get involved, the better we become.

We need film clips of players using AA's, power weapons, and vehicles effectively. Please post the vids in relevant threads. If you don't have bungie pro, just leave links. We may get some captured by the community members that have them.

Plasma Launcher: It's a weird weapon, and we could use some vids to help show others how to use it.

Hogging: Driving and Gunning to show priority

Wraith: Taking out other vehicles

Snipers: Effective positioning, etc.

Rockets: Using the Lock-on

AA's any clips of intelligent AA use would be nice.

We will start uploading rendered videos on bungie that have use in the War Room to the site's YouTube account "H3WMvideos" and posting them in the YouTube.

If you render bungie videos for use in the War Room, please post the bungie links here even if you upload to your own YouTube page. If we upload them to H3WMvideos, people who have subscribed to that youtube page are more likely to see your clips, and it will link people back to the War Room.

If you have them already saved via youtube, by posting the link i can still add the video to the playlist which in a way may be better due to the fact there would be no upload time, but on the downside i would not be able to edit the description to add a link, the owner of said video would have to do that.

Adding the following questions to all map threads. Your answers will help the guide creators make strategies that work. Do not be concerned if you feel like you're saying the same thing as everyone else. If we're getting similar responses, we can assume that what you all are doing works, so we should incorporate that into the strategy. Just please answer the questions as they relate to you.

Also, feel free to discuss other people's answers.

In response to feedback, most of the threads have been unstickied, and I created the War Room Directory to help people find stuff in the War Room.

Invasion: Boneyard - Elite Guide started.

Will need help taking screenshots for this guide. This guide will be much more visual than the Spire guide.

Here's my plan for the next week or two for the War Room:

Finish Boneyard Guides
Write Rough Hemorrhage Strat
Write Rough Paradiso Strat

Elite Guide
-Need to create callouts for Boneyard
-Need to take screenshots to create a more visual guide
-Going to need help from people good at labeling screenshots

Spartan Guide
-Going to do another forge session
-Repeat process for Elite Guide

Hemorrhage
-Write what's in my head
-Let you all refine it

Paradiso
-Write a plan I came up with over the weekend.
-Let you all test and refine it

What I really need help with:
-People for Boneyard screenshots



Now, as for the rest of you. Personally, I'm not that big on Armor Abilities. I will not be expanding and writing guides myself for the Armor Ability tips. I would much rather you all get involved on that.

Also, I don't think I'll be writing full guides on using specific weapons and vehicles (except perhaps the needler in a few months). Drivers, Gunners, Banshee Pilots, Falcon pilots, Revenant users, Ghost pros, Snipers, Focus Rifle Pros, Plasma Launcher users, etc. I need you all to get involved on those threads.

A lot of times for these guides, all you need to do is compile a lot of the useful stuff into a useful format. Feel free to PM any compiled guides or such for the other topics to me. I always give people their full credit for what they do, and I will even do all the pretty forum formatting for you.

But, if you're waiting on me to write AA Tip Guides, Weapon Guides, and Vehicle Guides, you're going to be waiting forever, because I don't use power weapons, and the only vehicle I use consistently is the Warthog.
