Ladies and gentlemen, we're floundering here. There's no use denying it, things have changed. The transitions between Halo games has always been difficult for communities. We weathered the storm during the transition to Reach by becoming a force to be reckoned with in Invasion. Unfortunately 343 have turned the tables on us once more. This group seems to be having a very hard time transitioning to H4, with many of us daydreaming wistfully about the H3 glory days. We're stuck in a rut, and it's time to start over.
Old strategies don't work anymore. New weapons and game mechanics have completely changed the game, yet we have so far tried to shoehorn old playstyles into this environment. We have to adapt. I feel like we've been slogging through the game hoping for pieces to fall into place.
I believe that it is necessary for us all to remember how much work and repetition went into our strategies for Halo 3 and Invasion. The pieces didn't just happen to fall into place then either. Several members spent many hours in forge and theater mode analyzing film and formulating thorough strategies. These were then evolved as necessary as we got more games in, but when starting a game with ANY Wheelman party, everyone knew where to go and what to do.
So here's the deal. Myself and Sarge, assisted by Cruckeyee, Grass, and anyone interested are going to dust off The War Room and get to work. We are all Passenger Wheelmen again. We either adapt, or go the way of the many GGN clans that have closed their doors.
We can do this. We've done it before. If we develop working strategies, the winning and the increased membership will follow.
I'M IN, ARE YOU?
