A Friendly Challenge from the Pod Rec Clan!

Wed Jul 15, 2009 9:38 pm

Hey H3WM. As some of you might already know, my name is JP Oliver, and I head the Recreational Halo 3 Clan for Podtacular (http://www.podtacular.com). I found you guys through the Good Game Network, since Podtacular is trying to join the Good Game Network through some friendly battles with other teams from around the network. We look to play for fun, but be just as competitive. I've already issued a challenge to other GGN teams in the past. I'm not sure if there's a "code of conduct" to the way the H3WM do their clan matches, but I will lay out our general style of clan matches below:

1) Podtacular Rec Clan prefers to play on weekends or possibly Friday nights. I know since this is summer, we can attempt to do something on a weekday night. However, we have a fair number of members that work weekday nights, which would make it difficult to have a strong turnout on our side. However, we also consider how the other team would like to schedule the match, and we always take into consideration when would be the best time for both teams.

2) PRC usually plays the best of 3 competitive (but still "just for fun") game types. Since we're the challenging team, the opposing team (in this case, H3WM) gets to choose 2 of the 3 gametypes, as we choose one. Then, we will normally have 1 or 2 "mixer" games after the 3 game series, just to mix up the teams and have some fun. We don't really care how teams are mixed up. We just play around for fun.

3) We typically play a 4v4 or a 5v5 in clan matches. However, in the past clan matches in 2009, we've had more than 5 people present for the match, so we "substitute" players after every game, so everybody gets a fair chance to play. We've never had any teams in the past have a problem with this, so we assume you guys are okay with it. Your team may also substitute players, if your roster consists of more than 4 or 5 players.

4) We stress the importance of having fun. We will be competitive, but we will not talk trash. We ask that you guys abide by this rule of ours, and play clean, as well. Playful banter is fine, but harassment or anything on both sides is uncool. Again, we've never had any issues like this, but seeing as I don't know many guys on this website, I just want to play it safe.

5) Since I am the only official leader of the Rec Clan at this point, the date we decide on MUST be favorable to me. I need to regulate the Podtacular Rec Clan in the match, so if something gets out of hand or confusing, I am able to help sort our guys out.

As always, I'm free for comments, questions, queries, concerns, etc. regarding the Podtacular Halo 3 Recreational Clan, or how we do battle with other clans and teams. I'd really like to meet some of you guys, and I know for a fact some of the clan members on our team would like to meet you as well (some of them love to go warthogging). :D

Thanks for your time, H3WM!
