Halo 2 games.

Sat Feb 06, 2010 10:22 am

I'm planning on playing some Halo 2 tonight up until 2am GMT or even later...
If you're interested in playing send a friend request to "x black kn1ght" my list might be full or close to it so if that doesn't work send me a message on xbl so I can get your GT and invite you.

Also post here if you're interested in playing with your times preferably in GMT 00

I'm there.

Don't know what map requirements are in place since I'm (almost) a total noob when it comes to H2 multiplayer, but either way I'd recommend downloading the map packs to anyone signing up.

The lesson here is that this will most likely happen with all kinds of console DLC, sooner or later. So keep that in mind the next time you delete some, particularly with "long-runner" games that just wont quite ever grow old... such as the Halo games.

Now lets play some old skool BTB while we still have the chance!! ::panic::

When is the next time you want to try this? I haven't checked my maps yet, but I know I downloaded them all when I was still playing H2.

There is word from official Bungie staff about them working on the problem with the maps being required to play.
So when this is fixed I'll be organising/playing alot of Halo2.

They're definitely planning something:

http://carnage.bungie.org/haloforum/hal ... ead=965726 :D

On a different note, good games the other night, Black Knight. Had a lot of fun. Everything; movement, jumps, weapons (dual needlers, hitscan br, four grenade slots), vehicles, maps.. it all feels really different, yet familiar, after playing Halo 3 for so long.

Also I noticed there are two maps not included on the Map Pack Disc (they were released later), but from what I hear you can still play BTB without those two.

I'm pretty sure that I have some type of a halo 2 map pack disc. If not, I should have all the maps on my other account (JagerMachine), if we are going to do some halo 2 stuff I may have to use that one...

Old Skool Halo 2 FTW!!!

Heheheh, yeah that was hilarious. Can you do that with any other vehicles?

Also

Installing Halo 2 DLC without Xbox Live (the sound on the video is low, but the song that automatically starts when you go to the site with the maps is quite loud, so watch your volume)

It's all explained there, except how to connect the 360 hard drive to your PC (needs Vista or later), which seems to be the hardest part. There are various ways of doing that, and unfortunately the free ones void your warranty.

The maps are/were free, but I'm not sure what Microsoft has to say about this... or their lawyers. Hopefully they understand people just want to play their game.

Then there's always the shit-ton of community created maps available.

BK, when the map issues are fixed I am absolutely up for a Halo nostalgia run. I haven't put in that disk since H3 came out and it'd be fun to play a few games on those maps again before they head into history.

Fortunately we still have a few weeks before the servers shut down, so I'm sure Bungie will have a fix before then. I'm not worried.
