Interested in Wheelmen

Hi all!

My buddy and I consistently play together and love to warthog (he drives and I gun). We always have mics and are very callout based, but don't enjoy playing with people that curse or complain frequently.

For a while we've been mulling over joining a real spartan company (instead of the one I made up).

When on Halo Waypoint, I read this: "Be advised this means we don't hold objectives, trash talk, or t-bag. ". Does this mean that the group is not a fan of holding objectives? My buddy and I are first about being good sports, second about objective play, third about vehicles, and forth about slaying. (I'd guess).

We're about diamond average in slayer, and we're really objective based.

Do we sound like we'd be a good fit for this group?

ps. I'm also a forger and considering finding a forging or customs clan.

It means we don't hold the last flag or avoid the core to extend the game and pad our K/D spreads. It sounds like you'll fit in fine. Also welcome!

welcome, feel free to add me. I run weekly lobbies on Tuesdays. My hogging (both driving and gunning) has vastly improved since joining HWM.

Yes you guys seem to fit here pretty well. Come join the chatbox when you are stopping by. We also have a warthog guide up at the guide tab and maybe there are still things you two didn't knew. It's always good to see other Warthog Duos sign up.
For now I guess you just add some people, get into games and have fun, join the spartan company and then everything else comes with time, make yourself comfortable around here and don't hesitate to ask if you got questions.

BTW if you are into twitter we lso have an account https://twitter.com/HaloWheelmen

Welcome! Your buddy should also sign up, feel free to add a few of us, weve been playing quite a bit of halo in full lobbies recently.

Also if you want to chat with us, our chatbox is on the "chat" tab. Feel free to swing in.

Welcome! While we do absolutely play to win we definitely have a big emphasis on maintaining conduct. If you're a hog duo then you came to the right place!

Thanks for the warm welcome all.

I've added those of you that responded and would be happy to do a game with some of you next time I'm on and see someone on. I also skimmed through the open letter and followed on twitter. I always read the halo waypoint updates, but the fireteam thing never directly affected us too much (other than as solo players etc). One time I randomly got placed as one of only two guys that weren't in a clan/team out of 12. We matched randos and WE totally got slaughtered. It was hilarious.

Off topic: at first I didn't like it, but after thinking about the new radar beta, I'm thinking it sounds awesome.

I'll get my buddy to sign up as well.

I had a couple of more questions:

What is the clan's stance on forging / customs? I've forged a number of maps and gametypes and bookmarked a ton and one thing I'm hoping for is some quality guys that like to bounce around on new maps / extended map variety and give popular custom games a go. Does this clan do that occasionally (I'm interested in doing that say 20% of the time, H5 70% of the time, and other Halos maybe 10% of the time). How does this match up with clan norms, expectations, desires?

Speaking of which, how much MCC / Reach is played?

Do you guys do a chat server like Discord? I've joined forgehub and halo customs on discord, though it doesn't seem to be a great fit for playing on xbox...

Is the gamertag clan-tag prefix mandatory and or expected for successful applicants? I really like my GT and don't want to change it.

Our members have created content that made it into Matchmaking in Halo 3 and Reach. You've probably played on them in BTB and Invasion. We haven't played a ton of customs in this Halo, but if you make an event and bring some solid gametypes I'm sure we'd participate.

We play almost no Reach or MCC anymore.

We have a chat on the website. You can find it on the navigation bar. We don't use outside software for communication formally because it pulls people away from the website and makes it harder for people to reach us.

The HWM prefix is a privilege for clan members who make it through the application. It is not required, but encouraged.

That's pretty cool you guys have stuff that made it to matchmaking. Is it content in H5 or earlier halos? If it's H5 I'd love to know what it was! That sounds cool.

Cool. Neither do Danceparty or I. :)

That makes sense, especially since you guys are probably just in a party when playing on xbox

Ok cool. That makes sense.

Ps. I dig the grenade launcher pic. At this point I think the grenade launcher is my favorite H5 weapon. It feels so hard to use effectively if used randomly, but with strategy it seems incredibly effective and rewarding. :)

Ok, so I'll PM a sponsor this application once I have one, but just for general knowledge, here is my application:

Forum Name: Iceburg

Gamertag: iceburg 33308

Age : 26

Forum Member since : 3-3-2017

Played Halo since : Reach

Have you been a part of any previous clans? If so, which?
Just the one I made and got four people to join: Helioskrills

More about me:
I'm a java developer and used to mod skyrim (over 500k downloads) http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspeciale ... s/1398716/?

Why do you want to join HWM? Please tell us how you will fit here. How will you contribute to the clan (personality, talents, etc.)? Please provide details and examples.
Danceparty and I play Halo 5 fairly often and would like to have some quality teamates. We practice giving good callouts and we're objective focused. He drives, I gun; we'd love to have someone ride shotgun and grab the flag. We'd contribute by being quality, team players that are more conserned with playing in a mature way then with just winning.

If something unacceptable were to happen on the battlefield or the game lobby, how do you feel you would handle it? Please provide several examples (i.e. clanmate love, holding the objective, overhearing (unfriendly) trash talk, etc.) List resolutions for these situations.
We mute people if necessary. Sometimes we tea-bag back (an enemy) if someone tea-bags us. (But I'm fine with ending that to comply with policy). If someone betrays us for a weapon or something we always both report the player.

Suppose you lose on the bad performance of a clanmate, explain your reaction and how you treat the situation. What would you do if it happened a second or third time?
Is the clanmate being malicious or losing on purpose? If so then we report the clanmate. If they're just bad, but trying ... we'd happily have that on our team. We have two friends who suck at halo, but we really like playing with them because they have good attitudes.

Please provide two core aspects of the Code of Conduct. How do you (honestly) feel about the Code of Conduct? Is it too stringent? Too lax? What, if anything, would you change?
I don't curse period. My buddy curses once a year on halo, if that. We're pretty self-stringent, so I'm totally on board with the code of conduct. I actually play my best when I'm outnumbered. The only reason I quite a match (99% of the time) is because it dropped my buddy when we loaded in. Or because we got tank world.... TANK WORLD. But yeah, I'm anti cheating and anti betrayal as well.

What games do you play most often? When do you play them (please include timezone details)? Do you prefer to play recreationally or competitively? What size of team play do you prefer?
Danceparty loves BTB. I liked the old breakout, but we hardly play that. BTB, Infection, Action Sack, Team Arena, Warzone are probably the most common. We play pretty much everything but swat. We tend towards recreation with occasional competitive play. It'd be cool to do full team size, though I wonder about all of the chatter. In a warzone do you split into multiple groups?

Finally what (or whom) motivated you to apply? How did you hear about us? Have any member(s) had an impact on you thus far? If so, how?
Legundo posted a link to his clan on a funny and lucky moments. We've been looking for a clan. This one looked mature.

Here's a video from us warthogging last night (3-4-17)

EDIT: Lied about my age. Danceparty reminded me I'm 26.
